Heat Advisory Kicks in on Friday

Posted: Thu 10:09 PM, Jul 22, 2010

We all know that it has been hot here this summer. It is about to get to that dangerous level again on Friday.

The only thing that I find positive about this whole thing is the fact that we'll be dry! That's it! It is about to become rather miserable around here. Daytime highs will be between 90 & 95. When the humidity is factored in it will be more like 100+ in some locations.

A heat advisory goes into effect on Friday afternoon.

Normally, I would throw a big heat index graphic up, but this time I am going to keep it rather simple. I will only include the range of highs that I am expect in the area on Friday plus the estimated humidity levels.

This is more of the playing field that we will be on Friday & Saturday.

Below is the RPM 's take on the heat index forecast. I think it will be very close to this!

The heat will fall in the dangerous levels. The folks over in Pike County really don't need two things... Heavy Rains or Dangerous Heat. This heat will hurt the clean-up effort almost nearly as bad as more rain would. If people aren't properly taking care of themselves it could lead to some major issues. I encourage all of you to follow these tips. I have thrown these up here a few times this summer and tonight we need to pay very close attention to them.

We'll get some relief by late this weekend as another cold front will approach and bring showers, storms, and cooler air!
