Metro-North: Conn. train outage expected for days
Posted: 12:48 PM - The Metro-North commuter rail line says crews will spend days rebuilding 2,000 feet of track, overhead wires and signals damaged in a derailment and crash in Connecticut.
Radar estimates were showing anywhere from one inch to three inches of rainfall scattered across southern and eastern Kentucky. It came in two waves, one during the mid-morning and early afternoon, and the other during the evening hours. Expect similar showers and thunderstorms again on Wednesday and Thursday. You can check rainfall totals below:

I'm growing a little more concerned about the current levels of saturation. After dealing with these very heavy bursts of rain this past weekend and this week, we are pretty full! Full meaning that the ground is pretty soaked. It only takes a couple of days like this to get in a sensitive situation with Mother Nature.
The general rainfall forecast over the next couple of days is possibly underplayed. At any time, some of these storms can and will produce heavy amounts of rain like we experienced Tuesday. That's what makes forecasts like this a little more challenging. Below is a bit of a model breakdown.

I will have more on Wednesday.
