Kentucky FOP officers to help first responders in Moore, Ok
Posted: 3:57 PM - Some officers with Kentucky's Fraternal Order of Police have plans to help out their fellow first-responders in Moore, Oklahoma who are busy cleaning up tornado damage.
I'm not disagreeing... I am just making sure you know what you will find when you flip on the TV to one of the national news organizations. Even right here on CBS you'll see plenty of coverage of Isaac rolled in with the Republican National Convention.
Why would someone in Kentucky even be focusing on a storm that is so far away? Well First... lives are on the line across the Gulf coast. Secondly, this storm will also have economic impacts on all of us right here in KY. Finally, I think we could see the remnants of Isaac right here in KY.
How much will Isaac impact our weather is something I'll watch the rest of the week. It won't be until the end of the week or weekend that we see some of the rain right here in eastern KY. At this point it looks like the folks in western KY, who need the rain, will see the heaviest amounts of rain from this system.
Rainfall Projection from the Hydrometeorological Prediction Center.

This can and will likely change to some degree in the coming model runs. Don't put all your faith in it right now. There are several others that are worth mentioning and looking at very closely.

Again we see the heaviest rains falling just to our west.

Notice anything unusual here? The GEM stakes Isaac right through the heart of Alabama. We get a little more rain.. but not much!
The reason I am focusing on rain so much is because I think that's where we'll run into any problems... with rain! Sure it might be breezy... but those strong winds will likely calm down quite a bit before ever coming back around to us in KY!
I'll have more on Tuesday.
