Legion post cited on alcohol, gambling charges
Posted: 1:41 PM - State officials have cited an American Legion post in eastern Kentucky on gambling and alcohol charges.
I thought for sure that this year would be my year... Christmas falls on Saturday... I'm in good shape! NOPE!!! A big storm is brewing and it's coming our way!
Before we talk those iffy details let's discuss what most will see early Wednesday morning. Some areas of freezing drizzle will develop overnight. This will eventually make a transition over to snow, but it could make for a slick go on Wednesday morning. It has similar potential as the Friday morning glaze from last week. We do have a couple of things working for us this time around. So maybe it won't be quite as bad.
Now the fun stuff we have all been waiting for!!!!!
An update for the Christmas storm of 2010. Wonder what the national media will call the event?
The 84 hour forecast of the NAM is finally long enough to include parts of Saturday. Here's what it looks like at this point.

The low takes a pretty southern track here. Sparing most of Kentucky from the early part of this storm. This run also just gets the moisture into the Commonwealth by 4am Saturday.
Now let's look at the data that has been watching this storm for days.

Hmmm... the 18z run of the GFS is beginning to look a little more like some of the earlier runs of the EURO this week. It might not even look this way when the 0z comes in pretty soon. This can change and I highly suspect it will. I am anxiously awaiting the newest run of each of these models. The GFS still packs a punch so we aren't out of the woods just yet. Snow is still highly likely!
I'll evaluate some more of the data tonight. Right now... it is till looking like a White Christmas... I'm just hoping not too white. That last thing I want to run into is bad roads and keeping folks home and away from family that they only have to travel a few miles to see. That few miles could be a real task if some of the other runs come to pass!
Once again... I'll show you the GFS snowfall forecast. NOT MY FORECAST... just the model!

I'll update again tonight from home when the new run is available.
