Eastern Kentucky Weather

Bitin' Breeze

Posted: Thu 10:13 PM, Oct 14, 2010

Overall, Thursday's was pretty nice. The early morning rain rolled out and the changes settled into the region. The cooler air, of course, being the changes.

I's still watching a weak fron for Friday. For most of us it will remain dry, but there is still a slight possibility that some of us could see a shower or two drift into far east KY. The front itself is fairly weak... but it will serve a purpose! This front will swing through and keep a hold on temps. Rather than see highs get close to 70 again... this front will keep highs hoovering in the mid 60s.

Let's check out the models.

GFS Early Friday                       EURO Early Friday                   NAM Early Friday

The EURO & the NAM both show a little bit of precipitation creeping into KY. What the end result could be is some extra cloud cover. I won't rule out a sprinkle for folks in Johnson, Magoffin, Martin, Lawrence, Floyd, or Pike Counties.

Temps will recover by the end of the weekend. Most areas will see high back up around 70 degrees. You throw in sunshine and you have an awesome day!

The next chance of rain doesn't arrive until Tuesday. Right now that is up in the air since the data looks different! It'll come together and we'll begin tackling that a little more.

Drought conditions are showing up in western parts of KY. Around here... we are considered "Abnormally Dry"

We'll keep up with all of this in the weathercenter!

C-Ya Bye
