Nice Weather Continues

Chief Meteorologist Shane Smith takes a look at a very calm weather pattern setting up over Southern and Eastern Kentucky.

The weather the last few days has been almost perfect across the mountains.  Fall is my favorite season, and days like today are part of the reason why.  If you liked today's weather, I've got good news my friends!  More of it is on the way.  Let's check out the weather pattern.

High pressure remains in control of our weather pattern for the time being, which means more sunshine.  There is a weak cold front heading out way for Saturday, but it's not looking to potent at this point.  It may, and I want to emphasize may, bring us a shower on Saturday, but chances are very slim.  Most of the weekend shall be dry and the only way you'll be able to tell the front has passed is Sunday will be a few degrees cooler.

However it looks like a more potent cold front will head our way by the middle of next week.  This looks like it will bring us a better chance of rain with some cooler temperatures also coming with it.

As we look ahead towards the end of the month, the pattern looks to be turning to the cooler side.  The map below shows temperatures on October 24.

Will this hold up as we head into Winter?  We will just have to wait and see.
