All Oklahoma tornado victims identified
Posted: 05/22/2013 - The death toll from this week's monster tornado in Oklahoma stands at 24, with all victims positively identified.
Heat Indices will climb to some very uncomfortable levels and honestly... some dangerous levels as well!
You will be hearing me and seeing things like "Heat Advisories" and "Heat Warnings" here's what they mean...
Excessive Heat Watches: is issued when conditions are favorable for an excessive heat event in the next 12 to 48 hours. A Watch is used when the risk of a heat wave has increased, but its occurrence and timing is still uncertain. A Watch provides enough lead time so those who need to prepare can do so, such as cities who have excessive heat event mitigation plans.
Excessive Heat Warning/Advisories are issued when an excessive heat event is expected in the next 36 hours. These products are issued when an excessive heat event is occurring, is imminent, or has a very high probability of occuring. The warning is used for conditions posing a threat to life or property. An advisory is for less serious conditions that cause significant discomfort or inconvenience and, if caution is not taken, could lead to a threat to life and/or property.

This chart pretty much sums it all up for us over the next couple of days. This reads like the multiplication tables from grade school. Just in case you can't remember... here's how to read that chart.
The column on the left is the actual air temperature. The percentage is the relative humidity. The temps inside the chart are what you get when you put the values toegther. For example... a temp of 90 and relative humidity of 50% makes the heat index 94.
The heat will slowly back off later this week... but we'll still be dealing with some dangerous levels so please be careful out there!

Each day during the week will also feature a chance of isolated showers & storms.
C-Ya bye
