Brodway live announces new season
Posted: 11:07 PM - A little bit of Broadway came to downtown Lexington tonight.
Before we get into the White Christmas Forecast we have plenty of other things going on this week. Several waves of RAIN showers will move across Kentucky in the coming days. Keeping things extremely wet leading into Christmas.
Average highs for this part of December are usually in the mid 40s. We beat that all to pieces on Monday with highs in the low and mid 50s. It only gets warmer as we head through the week. we might even see thermometers max out in the low 60s in some spots.

Totals look to stay around the 1" to even possibly 2" in isolated areas from Tuesday until Friday. Not a big time amount of rain... but still messy!
Now... let's look at hisotric chances of a White Christmas and NOAA's official definition. I think I have included this is my posts in year's past... but it's always good to show a refresher!
A White Christmas (as defined by the National Climatic Data Center) is one with an inch or more of snow on the ground at 6 A.M. The official snow depth is taken once each day at 6 A.M. CST.
Now that's how the nation's weather record keepers define it... I think just having some flying and a little on the ground qualifys too! MY OPINION!!!!!

As we head into this weekend I really think that we'll see at least some flying around in the air. There is some uncertainties with this forecast. It has potential! I'll let you know more each day!
