It was definitely a nice summer day across southern and eastern Kentucky. The calender might ready May but the weather we're going to see this week is straight out of July. Here's the set up.
A frontal boundary is stalled out just to our north. We're on the warm side of this frontal system and will be fore most of the week. Temperatures today topped out in the mid 80s and we set a record high at the Weather Service office in Jackson of 86 degrees. That front may spark a storm or two tomorrow north of the Mountain Parkway.
That system will lift to the north through the week causing our temperatures to head to near 90 degrees. This will also cause our humidity levels to rise a bit. It's not enough to make it very muggy, but you will notice a difference in the heat from early week, versus late week.
