Flood Watch And Even Some Snow

This weekend will feature highs in the 60s on Saturday and 40s on Sunday. With some heavy rains thrown in for good measure!

A front will swing through KY on Saturday and linger into Sunday. Waves of energy will enhance the rainfall rates and dump some decent totals.

The entire area goes under a flood watch Saturday afternoon. Some areas could pick up between 1" and 2". I think some areas could see higher amounts. This is very unsettling! Remember... we just picked up a heavy helping of rainfall earlier this week. Some flood advisories haven't been down long. This much rain so close together will make for an interesting situation.

I'll watch the radar this weekend!

Once this system clears the area we could see some snow showers! One model is trying to spit out accumulations... My big concern remains the flooding... not SNOW!

I received 2.26 inches of rain and 1/2 inch of wet snow out of this storm. I am glad it didn't flood in Harlan, but it was close to flooding! We may be in a lot of trouble with this next storm.

I agree with K about the radar maps you incorporate into your blogs. I use radar as much (sometimes more) than here say forecasts alone. The AccuWeather.com map source loads up fast on my PC. Thanks again for all your hard work Jim!

Thanks for the radar map on the blog along with the forecast - when there is snow/severe weather possible, it's great to be able to have a radar map I can look at to see what is nearby or headed our way...and this one doesn't bog down my computer so I can leave the page open and check back and forth during the day while I am working, and keep a pretty good idea if it's gonna start snowing any time soon, or if there is a bad storm a few miles off (or none at all). THANKS BUNCHES!!
