Forecast remains warm

Chief Meteorologist Shane Smith has a forecast that remains on the warm side.

Good Wednesday evening friends, I hope you are having a great day.  The weather across the mountains has been quiet today as the rain showers and storms we were expecting pretty much stayed to our north.  They did impact Lexington and Louisville quite a bit though, check out the flooding from the Kohl's in Lexington that was shared to our sister station WKYT's Facebook page:

We have a slight chance at storms the next 3 days, but the chances are only 20%.  A few pop-up storms are what we're looking at, but most of us should see plenty of sunshine and warm temperatures in the mid to upper 80s.  Rain chances will increase on Sunday however as a cold front looks to enter the region.

This rain looks to last off and on through the middle of next week.  Once we go into the end of the week temperatures look like they will be heading back up again.  While I don't expect them to go as warm as what the GFS is showing below, it wouldn't surprise me if we head back to the upper 80s.

Until next time, take care!

-Shane Smith
