Posted: 7:00 PM - A Kentucky marine killed in action during the Gulf War is now part of a memorial in his hometown of Versailles.
Groundhogs
Just as the title says... we are going to dicsuss a few things here. The first will be the GROUNDHOG. My email, twitter, and facebook have been buzzing with anti-rodent activists. Many calling for Phil's head. It's all in fun and that's why I refrain from saying why would anyone listen to a groundhog. Here are some great images from the Internet.

These were all great! There are even more floating around out there and if you have any please share with me on facebook or twitter.
Spring
I know it feels nothing like Spring. As amatter of fact we should be closer to 60 for daytime highs right now. We were close earlier in the week. The cold has grabbed the region and I am afraid it won't let go for a little while.
In March 2012 the coldest daytime high we recorded was 34... one time! Here is a look at the highs and lows from March 2012 and 2013

Snow
This section is the reason most of you probably clicked this post. After all... it's the biggest news we have had in weather since... since... I honestly can't remember!
I am spiltting up some variations of the the model data. I am showing you some trends that started showing up. Remember these trends could shift back toward the north. I am showing you this to let you know what could be possible.

This will be a close call for the folks in Eastern KY. It really won't get fired up until Sunday evening and going into Monday. Three of these runs show 8"-10" in or around Northern KY. The mosts consistent thing I see here in the different runs is the heaviest snow along and north of I-64. The latest GFS starts pulling the heavier stuff into our area and that is certainly a possibility. We will have to watch it very closesly heading into the weekend.
Due to limited broadcasts coming up this weekend... I will probably put out a daring First Call at 11pm on Friday night. Actually, that newcast will be closer to Midnight.
