Heavy Rains On The Way Out & Snow Is On The Way

Posted: Tue 10:32 PM, Nov 30, 2010

Once it started raining it didn't let up at all! It kept coming from late last night and through the day on Tuesday.

In my previous post, one of the concerns was the flood potential. Trust me... there has been plenty of that! In general, most of southern & eastern KY picked up anywhere from 1" to 3" or more. Here are some totals from the KY mesonet through 10pm. This doesn't include rainfall from Monday night.

The heavy rains will soon be out of the area and next we'll see some wintry precip!

Temps will begin dropping as this front swings through KY. The cold air will meet the moisture and we could see some snow flying around here by Wednesday morning and that could actually last into the day on Wednesday. As I mentioned on Monday... accumulations won't be a huge deal. That doesn't mean we won't see any though. We could start December off with some light stuff on some surfaces. Very similar to this past Friday.

So something light could end up on the ground by the time this ends.
