Hot Days Ahead

Chief Meteorologist Shane Smith is tracking several days of warmer weather for Eastern Kentucky.

Good Monday evening to you friends, I'm glad to be back with you after a week off down at the beautiful beaches of South Carolina.  The funny thing is it was actually hotter here today than it was the entire week I was in South Carolina.  In fact today we hit the 90 mark at Jackson and that tied a record set back in 1994.

The heat show's no signs of letting up for the first part of the week.  In fact it may be even warmer the next few days, check out the GFS Model.

That's showing temperatures near 90 on Wednesday, and they will also be that high on Tuesday and Thursday.  We could see a pop up shower or two especially Wednesday through Friday, but better chances will be with us for the weekend.

The heat ridge will weaken allowing decent chances of storms Saturday and Sunday.  It's not looking like a wash out , but the chances of will be up around the 60% range or so.  Stay cool in the heat my friends!

-Shane Smith
