I Can See The Light At The End Of The Tunnel

We are nearly free from this round of wintry weather. Just one more day and it's back to clouds and sun for a couple of days.

As many of you know I have been slowly peeling back totals each day. In doing that I am sure that I have thrown a lot of you off the forecast path. It has been like a snowfall countdown... this is how much we have remaining. So I'll post two maps... one is from earlier this week for the entire system. The second one is for the remaining snow in the forecast. By the end of the period the high total graphics will be where we end up after all the rounds of snow this week.

Pay No Attention to the wording "Tonight-Thursday PM" This is the original graphic from earlier this week.

Make sure you share your totals in the comments section. Copy and paste the set-up below so we'll know where your total is coming from.

(Optional) Name:

Here's what I expect for the rest of the period. This includes Wednesday Afternoon & evening totals. I was a little slow getting this post up and on the web channel.

This last round will be a little spotty. The higher elevations will be the main target tonight! Roads will still be dangerous Thursday morning so please be careful!

The next round of wintry weather is showing up on my radar. It has been since last week. I like to take it one system at a time. You start talking about two different ones and sometimes I get them crossed up in the atmosphere...LOL

SO right now we'll take another breather and wait for Thursday to get down to the set-up. Here are some notes though...

  • Saturday looks decent with highs around freezing or warmer
  • Snow showers drift into the region on Sunday
  • Monday-Weds will feature some rain and snow. Freezing rain can't be ruled out at some point

I do want you to see this though. I mentioned some pretty cold cold invading the region and here's what the GFS is showing. It has been painting the cold picture for a while now. It has backed it off some, but a big WOW has to be stamped on the actual outbreak itself.

This map has backed off quite a bit. In earlier runs we were in the -5 area. We'll keep watch on this massive cold outbreak.

So many comments and a million times thanks from me! I appreciate all of you that left your messages both good and bad. Naturally, I liked the nice ones better...LOL... I'm only human right? ;) With so many of you taking time to say those kind words... I am afraid I'll hurt someone's feelings if I only include a few to respond to. So a big thank you goes out to... js, LLVW, Terry Ball, Tara, chris, Adam, Susan, Chastity G, BlizzardTim, Brandon, mama, Knight, Eddie, Margaret, Andrew, Deb, Debbie, Mark, angela, Debbie, crystal, Bea, Fed Up, Lea, Leslie, Co, Lisa, James, rosalee, Brittany, Kim, Donna, Alicia, chassidy, jennifer, Stella, Gambrel, Sunshine, Jim, Crystal Derek, Debbie, Jason, Marlena, Napier, Misty, T.B., Becky, David Barnett, kygirl, Tori, and Christy.
