Hey there again friends, I'm back in with a quick update to the blog before I head to bed to get some rest before what's going to be a very busy weather day across southeastern Kentucky. Our winter storm appears to be still on track. Winter Storm Warnings and Winter Weather Advisories are now out for the region:
Winter Storm Warning now out for Pike, Letcher, Bell, and Harlan Counties from Noon today until Noon Thursday.
Winter Weather Advisory out for Whitley, Knox, Clay, Leslie, Perry, Knott, Floyd, and Martin Counties from Noon today until 9 AM Thursday.
Here's a look at the latest update to the snowfall forecast:
It seems to be lining up pretty well with the overnight data from the GFS model.
I have a feeling based on how the current trends that we will shift those snow bands just a little further west. The snow looks like it will start between 3-6 PM for most of Eastern Kentucky.
Brandon Robinson will be in this morning to keep you up to date with the newest data so be sure to tune into Mountain News this Morning. I will join you tomorrow afternoon as the storm begins to move in. Until then, take care!
