Good afternoon. I wish I had better news to share but it looks like more strong thunderstorms are likely again this afternoon. It's exactly what we don't need after several days of heavy rain and flooding so far this week. Here's a look at the latest radar:
The Storm Prediction Center with their latest update has put portions of the region under the risk for severe weather this afternoon. This are is a bit further to the east and north than yesterdays severe weather, but any heavy rain producing storms could cause a problem.
The HRRR model is showing the best storm coverage between 2 PM and 8 PM. The storms look to be mainly confined to the northern end of the Kentucky River Valley and the Big Sandy, but a few may swing down into areas that were effected by heavier rain earlier in the week.
We will continue to monitor the situation and have updates on our social media pages as necessary.
