No April Fool's for weather today, next week may be a different story

Chief Meteorologist Shane Smith ain't joking around on this April Fool's Day, the weather looks warm and active the next few days.

Nothing to joke about the weather today, it was simply awesome.  Plenty of sunshine and temperatures in the upper 70s and low 80s was seen by most of the mountains.  I really wish we could order up about 2 to 3 weeks of that kind of weather, it was so nice.

Tomorrow should be a pretty good day weather wise again.  Warm temperatures, but a few more clouds will be with us, and the chance of a few late day showers is definitely there.  Take a look at the future radar from the NAM mode for 5 PM tomorrow.

While it's keeping the bulk of the action off to our north, a few showers and storms are definitely possible.  But the chances of widespread rain will be more likely on Thursday and Friday.  However the latest NAM is going to pretty aggressive on a cluster of storms trying to move in late tomorrow night.  Check it out.

Thursday Evening:

Any of these storms over the next few days could produce strong gusty winds, and some brief heavy downpours.

After this system rolls through Friday, temperatures take a bit of a dive.  In fact we could be cool enough Sunday morning for a little patchy frost.  Check out the 7-Day forecast below.

Enjoy the warmth while you can my friends, we're not done with the cool stuff just yet.
