Scattered Storm Chances

Chief Meteorologist Shane Smith is watching several chances of showers and storms this week.

Good Monday one and all and to our veterans, thank you for your service.  This Memorial Day was pretty nice across the mountains of Eastern Kentucky, with mainly sunny skies and just a few pop up showers in the afternoon.

Similar weather conditions are expected the next several days with rain chances being slightly higher than today, with the best chances coming during each afternoon.  The NAM Forecast model has a good lock on the overall pattern.

Tuesday:

Wednesday:

Thursday:

While none of the days ahead are looking like a wash out, best chances of rain will likely be seen Wednesday Afternoon.  Some of these storms may produce some brief heavy rains, but it will likely be just typical summer time storms and not anything too strong or severe.

The pattern changes a bit as we head into the weekend.

Comfortable dry conditions with warm temperatures look mighty nice to me.  Until next time, take care!
