Bardstown officer shot and killed
33 mins ago - State Police have shut down exit 34 off Bluegrass Parkway in Nelson County while they investigate the death of a Bardstown Police Officer who was found shot early Saturday morning.
A very strong storm system is moving across the country and will eventaully bring strong winds, severe storms, and possibly tornadoes. That all begins on Tuesday. The main line of showers & storms won't be here until the afternoon to evening hours. I think some storms will get fired up pre-frontal and those could pack quite a punch.

Long before the storms ever get to KY you will notice how breezy it is outside. The storms will pack the biggest punch, but the winds will be howling long before then. Tie down the garbage cans and everything else you have that's loose outside. It might end up in someone else's yard down the street or a mile down the road!

Here's how NOAA describes a Wind Advisory:
A WIND ADVISORY MEANS THAT SUSTAINED WINDS OF 30 TO 39 MPH OR WIND GUSTS FROM 45 TO 57 MPH ARE EXPECTED. WINDS THIS STRONG CAN MAKE DRIVING DIFFICULT...ESPECIALLY FOR HIGH PROFILE VEHICLES. USE EXTRA CAUTION.
Just be ready for the powerful winds that will come whipping our way. This low is pretty powerful and it keeps looking better by the minute. Areas directly around the low will experience some of the strongest winds. look at this image

Where you see those black lines spiral in parts of Minnesota... that's where the center or the low is located. It stretches all the way down to KY during the afternoon hours. That's what you are seeing right there. The tighter these lines are... the faster the winds. So when you see one the is this deep (strong) you know you are in for a windy period.
Ths time of year sees very little severe weather activity in KY, but as small as the number is... there is a spike in November. We are just a few days away from November and Mother Nature is throwing us a little Welcome to November Party.

I'll be following this situation on Tuesday so stay tuned!
