We've already received reports of multiple accidents in Knott County on Highway 80 due to the slick roads. Check out this picture our own Tanner Hesterburg shot on his way back from a story.
Snow accumulations will be light, less than an inch. However that is more than enough to cause slick roads. Be careful out there tonight folks and keep it with WYMT.
Good evening friends, old man winter is causing more problems across the mountains of southern and eastern Kentucky again on this Wednesday. We're seeing waves of freezing drizzle and snow crossing the region and these are creating slicks spots on several area roads. You can track the heaviest of the precipitation on the radar below.
A lot of the precipitation will be very fine and nature and the radar may have a hard time picking up on the snow and drizzle. However if you see blue or pink over your neighborhood, be ready to deal with a quick dusting of snow that will cause some travel problems. Temperatures area already below freezing and will continue to drop through the remainder of the night.
The forecast remains active as we have more chances of wintry weather this weekend and during the middle of next week.
We will have the latest on road conditions as we get them on the WYMT Facebook page. Be sure to check it out www.facebook.com/WYMTNews .
