Snow Will Finally Take The Backseat

Updated: Mon 10:36 PM, Dec 27, 2010

After weeks of talking "Significant Snow" it looks like that will take a ride in the backseat for a little while.

I'll tell ya... December has been explosive! Of course, I didn't have to tell you that if you are living in eastern Kentucky. It has been an absolute mess! Wave after wave of significant snow keeps coming our way. That changes for a brief moment.

Finally, I can talk about something other than the next big storm. Of course we will take a look at one of those coming up in a second. The warmer temps coming our way could come with a twist!

GFS 1am Thursday                                    GFS 4am Thursday

The next round of wet weather will work into Kentucky on Wednesday night into Thursday. What could happen as the system rolls in is what you see above! Perhaps it all starts out as snow or a wintry mix. This won't last long because the system will be much warmer when it finally works through KY and that will mean mainly rain for this round. Still... something wintry to get things started off toward the end of the week.

A pretty solid warm-up is also on the way for the end of the week. I have seen data try to show 60s and close to 70! I'm not saying that couldn't happen... it just probably won't! The warm-up we'll experience will be a good one with highs in the 40s and right around 50. This will feel like spring time after what we have recently been through. I'll be ready for shorts and a round of golf! LOL

The warm-up will be short lived as we take another dip. The transition getting to the colder air could be a good one this weekend. Especially, if we can get enough warm air in here at the surface.. storms will certainly be a possibility!

Now let's talk about what COULD happen next week! It's over 7 days away, but why not mention it here tonight?!?!?!?!?

EURO 7am January 6th.

GFS January 7th ((This is the last full update of the GFS as of 10:25. New data is coming out right now)

Two models with very similar/very different results! How will this play out? Something I'll have to watch very closely! It's still so far out there that a lot of things can happen!

As always... thanks for stopping by the blog! I truly appreciate you coming to our site to read these words & graphics that I prepare. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!

C-Ya Bye
