Police: Woman charged after man found living filthy house
19 mins ago - A woman faces charges after, police say, she neglected a disabled man she was supposed to be taking care of.
The first wintry round will likely lat some decent snowfall by the time it is all said and done. All the data is still pointing at that. Here's the latest on the advisory and snowfall accumulation.

The stripe of blue or 4" is only for the folks in the higher elevations. I don't think these totals will get too much higher than what you see right there, but 2,500 ft and higher is a different ball game my friends. The rest of the area should be good to go with those totals. It could be one of those situations where you go across town and that area will have 2" and you come back to your house and have 4" or 1" The snow will be streaky with some of the accumulations.
Before we start another riveting conversation about the storm that COULD BE... let's take a look at the forecast for all of you folks heading down to Birmingham. The bowl weather should be fine! A little chilly... but that's about all you will have to deal with! If you plan on staying Saturday night and then coming back on Sunday you might want to reconsider. The same storm that we are watching for our area will arrive in Alabama long before it ever gets here. This area will be in a true winter battle ground. That means rain/snow/ice will all be possible. It should get started there early on Sunday morning.
Here's what that forecast looks like for your Sunday travel.

There is still a lot of uncertainty about that icing line, but it will likely show up somewhere very close to what you are seeing. Here's what I would do... Got to the game and enjoy yourself on Saturday. Stop and get some great southern BBQ and head home that evening. That's just me ;) Just like with our forecasts, this will go through some changes. For the latest in Alabama weather be sure to check out James Spann's forecast. He will be all over the weather situation in Birmingham. You can check this blog, but I will be focusing on what the storm will be doing here. I had a chance to meet James and listen to him speak a few years ago while I was completing my meteorological studies through Mississippi State University. Sharp cat and really knows his stuff! Check the local forecast here If you have our Android or iPhone weather app on your smartphone... you can watch radar from anywhere in the country.
NOW... what kind of a mess will come from this system for the great folks in KY? That's still a big question!

After a very hard hitting run late Wednesday night... the runs on Thursday have gone back to what the earlier runs looked like. This is very common and might happen again tonight. What you need to look for here is anything other than white over Kentucky.
The EURO looks like this.
EURO 7am Monday EURO 1pm Monday EURO 7pm Monday

The EURO spreads a little more moisture into the region, but nothing amazing just yet! Just the fact that it keeps bringing moisture this far north is what I am watching. This will be fun to watch.
