Eastern Kentucky Weather

Spring Mix-Up

April is traditionally a very active month here in Eastern Kentucky as far as severe weather is concerned.

Before we talk about the severe weather possibilities later this week... let's review the flooding from Wednesday.

Knox County from Jerry Johnson

Clay County from Melissa Tartarski

Stoney Fork from Jason Couch

Highway 221 from Scotty Blanton

We had some pretty intense amounts of rain roll through several counties Tuesday night and Wednesday morning.

The next chance of showers and storms will be in our region on Friday morning. Some of those storms could be strong or even severe. Right now the bulk of the most significant activity will happen out to our west.

The front that brings the severe weather threat back to Kentucky will bring temperatures down around 30 degrees for highs.

The following images show a swing in temperatures from Thursday to Friday.

I'll have another update on Thursday
