The Million Dollar Question

Updated: Wed 10:36 PM, Dec 08, 2010

With all kinds of time and multiple tracks... it's a toss up! I am starting to see something though!

There is no doubt in my mind that we'll see snow from the upcoming system! It's the how much that is the biggest question. So you can take it to the bank that it will be wintry to some degree around here. Unless... the models bring in 75, sunshine, and literally say, "Ha ha we fooled you" Knowing my luck they'll start talking to us tonight...lol With any of the tracks that I have seen we get in on the wintry weather.

The folks over at the NWS Jackson put this map together.

Thanks to those guys for putting together all of my thoughts on one graphic. This is what I keep dealing with each day.

Here is what the latest runs actually look like for Sunday morning around 7am.

The Canadian, Euro, and NAM are all leaning for a more northerly track. We'll still see snow from a northerly track, but not as much as the GFS could bring. It puts us in the cold air faster and feeds plenty of moisture to the region. What I am hoping for is that all of them will look similar by Friday. Again, I will say that snow is looking very likely no matter which way we go. The million dollar question is how much? That's what I am waiting to decide! This is no longer a "Will It" or "Won't It" game. It's a "How Much"

I am waiting for a northwesterly jog to the GFS. This might slowly happen any day now. Let's wait and see if that becomes a factor.

Just for fun I am showing you this run from the GFS. This is just what the 18z run shows and it is not to be taken as a forecast. It's a tool and one that is bringing some decent snowfall to the area. This doesn't include snow squalls that will hang around through mid-week. Those squalls could bring a few more inches to some areas.

GFS Thru Monday Afternoon

I will likely post a vlog towards the end of the week. I'll try to answer all of your questions at that point.

C-Ya Bye
