Fallen Kentucky marine honored at memorial ceremony
2 mins ago - A Kentucky marine killed in action during the Gulf War is now part of a memorial in his hometown of Versailles.
It has been such a nice run here in the mountains this week. Mon-Weds all topped out in the upper 70s officially... some spots did touch the low & mid 80s. Now let's prepare for some really warm temps.
The end of the week and weekend are my favorite parts of the week. The weekend is clear... but the end of the week brings out the best in people. Everyone is smiling and just happier by Friday. We all know the week is finished and we need great weather to keep our spirits up for the next 48 hours. We'll see sunshine and we'll see hotter temps for this weekend. Highs will approach and surpass 90 degrees Fri-Tues.
Next week will be very interesting thanks to a little storm named Isaac. I am watching this storm very closely for a few reasons.
What's also interesting is the fact that the Republican National Convention will be happening next week in Tampa, Florida and if the storm stayed on the curent path... it would put all of those folks right in the middle of a total mess! They have plans just in case it directly impacts them at the convention.
Here are a couple of snapshots. This shows you how crazy a forecast like this can be this far out! It's VERY similar to watching a major snow storm develop and watching the path change every single day.
This is the official track from the National Hurricane Center.

The two models above are based on the same time... yet the end result is WAY off!
Here's a couple more...

You can see the general trend keeps pushing Isaac out in the Gulf. There's plenty of warm water for Isaac to feed off of... IF... this is the final path! I'll keep watching it as I am sure many of you will too!
