Former teachers helping family of murdered Lexington teen
42 mins ago - This was supposed to be a time to celebrate the end of the school year, but some Lexington students are instead planning a vigil to remember a classmate.
As far as record keeping is concerned... it is now winter! The snow was a perfect fit on Wednesday morning. Some areas had some on the ground... as I mentioned on Tuesday. It was nothing major and melted pretty quickly!
Meteorologists and climatologists define winter as December 1 through the last day of February. However, astronomical winter – often described as “official” winter – begins on the winter solstice (on or around December 21) and lasts until the spring equinox (on or around March 21). For each of the four seasons, the astronomical season lags behind the meteorological season by about three weeks.
Now that we have that out of the way we'll get into the forecast odds and ends coming our way in the 7-Day Forecast.
The weekend system

Even with the southern track I think we'll see some rain, but it will main be a snow deal. However, the real debate is on which track is the right track. These are just examples that I have thrown together. I don't expect the track to be very far from what you see there. I might widen it a little more for on-air use!
The data is trying to keep the heaviest snow north of Kentucky.

The weekend system's track changes ever so slightly and we get some good snow on the ground even if it is an inch!
More updates coming!
