Eastern Kentucky Weather

Wet Week Ahead

Several Chances of rain for the week ahead, Chief Meteorologist Shane Smith breaks them down in tonight's weather blog.

It was a half and half weekend across southern and eastern Kentucky, but the week ahead looks mainly dreary.  Several chances of showers and storms will be with us through the week as a slow moving cold front will take the majority of the week to cross the nation.

Tomorrow will be very similar to today with showers and storms of the pop up variety possible across the entire area.  The best chance will be during the early afternoon and evening.

Chances of widespread rain will be on the increase Wednesday into Thursday as the front actually enters the region.  The rain could be heavy at times.

Rain should exit the region in bulk by Friday, however by the time it's all said and done, some places in Eastern Kentucky could pick up an inch or two of rain.

This may lead to a few isolated high water problems.  We will monitor that threat as we head through the week.  In the mean time, check out the 7-Day forecast, which features a cooler, but mainly dry weekend.
