Winter Storm Warning and More Snow

A winter blast is working its way through the mountains, bringing snow and arctic air back into play.

The snow has moved into the region and is laying down some quick accumulations across the area.

Winter Storm Warnings are out for parts of several states:

In Virginia, Buchanan, Dickenson and Wise County are also under the warning. The rest of the area is under a Winter Weather Advisory until later tonight.

So far, the largest snow totals I've seen reported so far are from the northern counties back toward the Mountain Parkway. West Liberty, Campton and Salyersville all have at least 4" as of 11am.

It looks like the snowfall forecast from last night is going to hold up. Here's another look at it.

The snow will continue to fall into the afternoon and evening hours before tapering off and then the chill moves in. Temperatures will drop into the single digits overnight and when you factor in the wind chill, it will feel much colder.

Keep it locked right here for the latest updates throughout the day.
