Due to the thousands of layoffs this past year, many families will not have as many gifts wrapped under the Christmas tree. It’s no secret that the holidays are a stressful time period; however, it can be even more stressful when a provider for the family is without work. During these rough times a seasonal job could become the Christmas miracle that many families are looking for. Most do not consider seasonal work to be the start of a career but this type of employment can send someone down the right path.

Temporary seasonal employment is an opportunity for job seekers to make some cash around the holidays. Most seasonal jobs do not pay much more than minimum wage, but companies may offer a more rewarding job and salary to exceptional employees. Businesses often hire seasonal, high achieving, employees who fit within the culture of the company and have a desire to pursue a career within that organization. Temporary jobs can also help someone find a permanent career even if the employee is not asked to remain with the business long-term; the references a person can gain from a holiday job may be just what they need to continue networking within their field. Lastly, the duties of a seasonal worker are often not as challenging; those who rise above the crowd and bring Christmas cheer into these tasks will be noticed by the company’s management.

If you are asking Santa for a regular, full-time job, a new career path, or extra packages to open on Christmas morning, a temporary seasonal employment job could be in his bag for you.
