Both polls identified “likely” voters.

But a new CNN/Time/Opinion Research poll shows the race is a dead heat.  This poll concentrated on registered voters.

CNN’s Political Blog offers this analysis.

"Not surprisingly, Paul is winning among conservatives by more than 40 points," says CNN Polling Director Keating Holland. "But Conway has a 22-point advantage among moderates."  Paul holds an 11-point advantage among independent voters, according to the survey.

Rand Paul is a little unique and the liberals have made quite an effort to spin things he has said, he often talks off the cuff and then has to explain himself. Jack Conway has been clear on his position that he believes that it is ok to murder unborn babies.

Real Clear Politics, a CNN/Time political blog, even called the CNN/Time poll an 'outlier even among likely voter polls'.

Rand Paul is way too radical for Kentucky. He has flipped on the drugs issue, the Aquabuddha embarrassment, his thoughts on the Civil rights act & Americans with Disabilities act, and the fact he thought Hazard had something to do with the "Dukes of Hazard". No, Not the choice for this state. I remember the ads Mitch ran about his opponent being from out of state, or having a home out of state. Well, suddenly Texan Rand is ok since he is GOP. Hypocrisy overload. IMHO
