Lieutenant Governor Daniel Mongiardo is our guest Monday July 6th on Issues & Answers: The Mountain Edition. Mongiardo is making a second run at the U.S. Senate. His eyes are once again focused on Republican Jim Bunning’s seat. Mongiardo narrowly lost a bitter contest in 2004 by less than one percentage point. Mongiardo must first win the Democratic nomination. Attorney General Jack Conway has wrapped up key endorsement from some big name Democrats, including two Kentucky Congressmen, Ben Chandler and John Yarmuth. State Auditor Crit Luallen and Louisville Mayor Jerry Abramson have also endorsed Conway. Meanwhile Governor Steve Beshear has thrown his support behind his Lieutenant Governor, saying Mongiardo’s “concerns and priorities” reflect Kentucky values. What would you like to ask the Lieutenant Governor? Send your questions to neil.middleton@wymtnews.com or just leave a comment on this blog. I’ll use some of your questions when I sit down with the Lieutenant Governor Monday at 7pm. Remember, we stream Issues & Answers live on the internet. If you miss the segment, you can find it on out web channel. As always, thanks for making WYMT-TV your source for news and information. We appreciate your trust. Okay, if you do not support same-sex marriage - many Kentuckians do not. But will you support a federal employment non-discrimination act (ENDA) working its way through the congressional process that would protect against job discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation and gender identity? Posted by: Joe Location: Lexington Do you regret sponsoring a Constitutional amendment that outlawed any legal recognition of same sex couples? Posted by: Craig Blanton Location: Frankfort and Twitter Thanks Neil. LT Gov Mongiardo, In 2006 Kentucky was ranked #3 in marijuana production ( http://www.drugscience.org/Archive/bcr2/Appendix_State_MJ_Prod.pdf ) My question is not about marijuana but it is about Hemp. The USA imports hemp from Canada and Europe. it is used in vehicle body panels and many other things. Would you be willing to take the bold step and bring hemp production to the forefront in Kentucky Agriculture? It would create a whole new textile industry for Kentucky farmers. Hemp could also be used for biofuel production, better than joptra, corn, and soybean. Bold leadership requires bold ideas. What about this one. Posted by: John Location: Prestonsburg will you continue to support Obama and the Democrats who are intent on destroying the coal business in Eastern Kentucky? |
