Lieutenant Governor Daniel Mongiardo is our guest Monday July 6th on Issues & Answers: The Mountain Edition.  Mongiardo is making a second run at the U.S. Senate. His eyes are once again focused on Republican Jim Bunning’s seat.  Mongiardo narrowly lost a bitter contest in 2004 by less than one percentage point. 

Mongiardo must first win the Democratic nomination.  Attorney General Jack Conway has wrapped up key endorsement from some big name Democrats, including two Kentucky Congressmen, Ben Chandler and John Yarmuth.  State Auditor Crit Luallen and Louisville Mayor Jerry Abramson have also endorsed Conway.  Meanwhile Governor Steve Beshear has thrown his support behind his Lieutenant Governor, saying Mongiardo’s “concerns and priorities” reflect Kentucky values.
