President Obama goes primetime tonight. Opposition to his one trillion dollar healthcare plan is building so the President is taking his sales pitch straight to the American people. You can watch the President’s primetime address on WYMT at 8pm.

A Washington Post/ABC News poll shows at least half of all Americans are not in favor of the President’s plan to reform healthcare. 49% support the President’s handling of the health care issues, that’s down from 57% in April.

The gap is even wider in a WYMT on-line poll. Nearly 67% of those participating in the poll say Congress should not approve the President’s health care plan. We should mention this poll represents only the opinions of those who chose to participate, so it should not be considered a scientific sample of public opinion.

Results:  Should congress pass President Obama's health care bill?
Poll Results:
Yes - 24.0%

No - 66.9%

Undecided - 9.2%

Total Responses - 697

The President wants Congress to vote on the bill before the August recess. That now appears unlikely as moderate and conservative Democrats join Republicans in raising concerns about moving such complex and costly legislation too quickly.

Meanwhile, a conservative South Carolina Republican, Senator Jim DeMint said the health care overhaul will prove to be President Obama’s "Waterloo." During an appearance on NBC's "Today" show Wednesday, Demint said, "It's not personal. Butwe've got to stop his policies. The policies are not matching up to the promises. They're loading trillions of dollars of debt on tothe American people."

So now it’s your turn. What do you think? I’ll share you comments in an upcoming blog.
