Kentucky’s new Education Commissioner is a fan of social media. Terry Holliday will share his thoughts, insights and concerns on Twitter and a personal blog called“Doc H’s Blog”.
Holliday plans to post something to his blog at least once a week. A Kentucky Department of Education news release calls it a way of providing “two way communication” between the Commissioner and Kentucky citizens. People can comment on his blog posts and leave messages.

Holliday says he plans to travel around Kentucky, visiting schools and talking with educators, parents and elected officials. He will post highlights of those visits on his blog and Twitter. Holliday also has a Facebook page.
Holliday was this year’s North Carolina Superintendent of the year. He was hired to the Kentucky post last month at a salary of $225,000 a year. Holliday has a four year contract.
