Retired Major General Donald Storm called today to tell me he will not be a candidate for Laurel County Judge Executive next year.

Storm currently lives in Elizabethtown.  He has until the first of November to become a resident of Laurel County in order to for office in 2010.  Storm says he will not be able to move back in time to run for office.

Storm says he will be involved in Eastern Kentucky politics in the future, but did not elaborate.

The Retired Major General spent 38 years in the military.  Most of that time was with the Kentucky National Guard.  He served in Vietnam and was appointed as the 51st Adjutant General of the Commonwealth of Kentucky in 2003.  He retired last year.
