Governor Beshear’s Weekly Address: Tackling Kentucky’s Dropout Problem

Last year more than 6,000 Kentucky students dropped out of school. An even more startling statistic is the fact that more than one-fourth of Kentucky adults have less than a high school education. The Governor and First Lady will kick off a statewide initiative to tackle this problem.

This week Governor Steve Beshear and First Lady Jane Beshear discuss Graduate Kentucky.

Last year more than 6,000 Kentucky students dropped out of school. An even more startling statistic is the fact that more than one-fourth of Kentucky adults have less than a high school education.

The Governor and First Lady will kick off a statewide initiative to tackle this problem during an inaugural dropout prevention summit in Frankfort on September 11th and 12th.
