Attorney General Eric Holder is in the hot seat on Capitol Hill, defending his decision to bring suspected 9-11 terrorists to New York City to face trial in a civilian courtroom. The Attorney General told a panel of Senators, along with family members who lost loved ones in the 9-11 terrorist attack, that his decision to try suspected terrorists on U.S. soil did not mean an increased threat.
In a speech on the Senate floor, Senator Mitch McConnell called the move an “ill-advised decision” and posed a series of questions to the Attorney General.
Should the 9-11 terrorist be treated as war criminals or be given the same rights afforded American citizens? Should they be tried in U.S. criminal court or by a military tribunal? Let me know your thoughts and concerns.
