Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell promised, “This will not be a short debate” when talking about the latest Democratic health care bill. The 849-billion dollar measure would extend coverage to 94-percent of Americans and bar private industry from denying insurance due to pre-existing medical conditions.
Most of the provisions will not go into effect until 2014. In a Senate floor speech this morning, Senator McConnell says the Democrats rush to pass the 2,074 page bill is “like being asked to pay your mortgage four years before you’re allowed to move into your house.”
