The top Republican on the House Homeland Security Committee says the United States needs to let friend and foe alike know that it “will stop at nothing” to protect itself. 

In the GOP weekly address, New York Congressman Peter King says the failed jetliner bomb plot raises the question of whether the country has learned its lesson.

“We are a nation at war, and we should act like it. We need to pull together, remain vigilant, and send a clear signal both to our friends and our enemies that this government will stop at nothing to protect our homeland. That’s how America sets an example for the world."
