(AP) Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell says the health care plan signed by President Barack Obama solves nothing and undermines some good parts of the system.
In the weekly GOP radio and Internet address,
McConnell says the U.S. health care system is in serious need of changes and that "nobody is satisfied with the health care system as it is."
He says costs are out of control, and "people are being squeezed out of the market."
But McConnell says the Democratic plan to overhaul health care is badly flawed and should be repealed and replaced. McConnell says Republicans can do better.
He was emphasizing a new GOP political approach that proposes "repealing and replacing" the bill rather than just repealing it.
Republicans say they can eliminate elements they don't like, such as tax increases.
