Beverage group: 18 mayors wrong on sugary drinks
Posted: 06/18/2013 - The American Beverage Association says efforts by the mayors of 18 cities to stop food stamps from being used to buy sugary drinks won't make the nation healthier.
Secretary of State Trey Grayson picked up a key conservative endorsement this week.
The founder of Focus on the Family, Dr. James Dobson, calls Grayson “the only candidate with the conviction to lead on the issues that matter to Kentucky families.” Dobson says Grayson’s “unwavering commitment to the sanctity of human life and the family resonates with me.”
Rand Paul has picked up conservative endorsements from Sarah Palin and Northern Kentucky Right to Life.
Rand Paul’s campaign issued this statement.
"Interestingly, this is the second time in two weeks Dr. Dobson has ventured abroad to endorse an establishment moderate in a U.S. Senate race. I'm not sure what that means. As far as reaction from Rand Paul's campaign, I'd say we will stick with our conservative pro-life endorsements from Sarah Palin, Jim Bunning, Northern Kentucky Right to Life and Concerned Women for America and the seven hundred thousand members of Kentucky Credit Union League who support Rand Paul in his efforts to restore constitutional government for Kentuckians."

Trey Grayson’s campaign issued this News Release:
Dr. James Dobson, founder of Focus on the Family, announced today that he is endorsing Kentucky Secretary of State Trey Grayson in the Republican primary for U.S. Senate.
“Trey Grayson is the only candidate with the conviction to lead on the issues that matter to Kentucky families. His unwavering commitment to the sanctity of human life and the family resonates with me. I know that he will be a leader on these issues, not just another Senator who checks the box. As a matter of conscience, I encourage Kentuckians to support Trey Grayson on May 18th,” said Dobson.
Grayson commented, “I am humbled to have the endorsement of Dr. Dobson. He is a well-respected leader on the issues of life and family, which are important to the foundation of our country. If I am elected, Kentuckians have my word that I will be a strong, conservative voice for them in the U.S. Senate. ”
Dr. Dobson is endorsing Trey Grayson as a private individual and not on behalf of any non-profit organization.
