4th District Congressman Geoff Davis says a federal judge’s ruling that declared the National Day of Prayer unconstitutional is “not what our Founders intended.”
Last month, federal judge Barbara Crabb ruled the National Day of Prayer amounts to a call for religious action and violates the separation of church and state.
In a speech on the House floor, Davis said the ruling “does a disservice to our history as a religious nation.”
“This is another disappointing example of activist judges making decisions that fly in the face of the Constitution, violating Congressional intent and the values of our Founding Fathers.”
President Obama is appealing the ruling and has proclaimed tomorrow the National Day of Prayer.
I would like to hear your thoughts on this issue.
Do you think the National Day of Prayer is unconstitutional or is this just another attack on our religious liberty?
