(AP) - House Republican leader John Boehner of Ohio says Americans who have had to cut back to make it through tough economic times deserve the same discipline from their government.
In the weekly GOP radio and Internet address, Boehner called on President Obama to rein in government spending and accused the president of "refusing to make the tough choices" when it comes to budget cuts.
Boehner today renewed his attack on the new health care law, arguing that its "burdensome mandates and tax increases" are stalling economic recovery.
He says the President "has spent taxpayer dollars with reckless abandon" but unemployment continues to hover near 10 percent and the private sector is at a "near standstill."
Do you think the government is spending too much? Let me know your thoughts.
