Talk about sticker shock!
The U.S. Debt Clock hit $16 trillion today. Most of us cannot comprehend such a massive amount of money. Think about it this way: If you were to spend one dollar every second, it would take you 32,000 years to spend one trillion dollars. Multiply that by 16 and …well … you get the picture.
Here’s another way to look at the national debt. If you pay taxes, your portion of the national debt is $140,011. If you break it down even further, every American citizen owes $50,907.
I wonder if anyone has buyers’ remorse?
Here’s a screen shot of the National Debt Clock at 4:06 this afternoon.

Last month the Congressional Budget Office warned the nation would plunge into a recession next year if Congress fails to prevent $500 billion in tax hikes and spending cuts. The deadline for Congress is December 31.
How do you feel about the national debt?
I welcome your thoughts and comments.
