We are racing to the finish line in Kentucky’s U.S Senate race.
In just five short weeks Kentuckians will elect a new U.S. Senator and the latest polls show the race between Democrat Jack Conway and Republican Rand Paul
is a dead heat.
A new Courier Journal/WHAS11
Bluegrass Poll shows Conway has closed the gap.
U.S. Senate Race Like Voters
Rand Paul (R) 49%
Jack Conway (D) 47%
Undecided 4%
Margin of Error +/- 4%
Paul’s biggest lead is in Eastern Kentucky, where he’s in front by 13-points. That’s similar to the results three weeks ago. Pau also leads by three points in Western Kentucky.
U.S. Senate Race Like Voters – Eastern Kentucky
Rand Paul (R) 53%
Jack Conway (D) 40%
Undecided 8%
Conway has moved ahead by two points in the Louisville area and is now tied with Paul in North-Central Kentucky.
This is a significant change from three weeks ago in which Paul led Conway 55 percent to 40 percent.
Here’s an interesting observation. In that poll three weeks ago, Survey USA questioned 561 likely voters. The breakdown by party affiliation is 42% Republican, 47% Democrat and 10% Independent. Click here to view the September 2, 2010 poll results.
In the latest poll, Survey USA questioned 611 likely voters. The breakdown by party affiliation is 36% Republican, 51% Democrat and 12% Independent. Click here to view the September 25, 2010 poll results.
The Secretary of State’s office reports registered Democrats outnumber Republicans about two to one in Kentucky.
