Last year Fox Sports rejected a John 3:16 themed commercial.
I find it interesting to note that when Tim Tebow wore John 3:16 on his eye black for the 2009 BCS National Championship Game the verse generated more than 90 million searches in the next 24 hours. It was the highest-ranking Google search term for the time period.
Ironically, the very next year the NCAA banned players from wearing messages on their eye black in what’s known as the Tebow Rule. The NCAA denied the new rule was prompted by Tebow’s messages. Several other college players also wore messages on their eye black.
The practice was already banned in the NFL.
