The latest polls show the race between President Obama and Mitt Romney is too close to call.

The tight race is leading to speculation one candidate might win the popular vote, but still lose the election. This scenario has played out in our nation’s history four times before. Most recently in the 2000 presidential election, Al Gore won the popular vote, but George W. Bush received a majority of the electoral votes to win the presidency.

A final thought -- The candidates have had their say. The paid political ads, the promises and the mudslinging are coming to an end. 

Now, it’s your turn.  Your vote is your voice and now it’s time to let your voice be heard. If you don’t vote, you don’t have a right to complain or criticize.

But here is a sad statistic. American voter turnout is lower than other wealthy countries. In fact, we rank a dismissal 138 out of 172 when it comes to voter turnout. Surely we can do better.

Please don’t take your vote for granted. It is a right that was paid for with the blood of our nation’s heroes, our veterans.
