GOP weekly address: Determined to control budget and create jobs

House Majority Leader Eric Cantor of Virginia says job creation requires cutting taxes, reducing regulations, completing bogged-down trade agreements and expanding energy exploration. You can watch the address here.

Republicans say they're determined to get the federal budget in line and create more jobs.

In the weekly GOP radio and Internet address, House Majority Leader Eric Cantor of Virginia says job creation requires cutting taxes, reducing regulations, completing bogged-down trade agreements and expanding energy exploration.

Cantor says those measures "will help encourage growth and long-term economic stability."

He says that requires a "shift from a government that smothers new jobs and business growth to one that nurtures an environment for getting people back to work."

He says America needs to do what it does best, "innovate, compete and lead."
