Only two movies are opening this Oscar weekend and, from the looks of it, neither one should put up much competition against the award show. In fact, I really have nothing this week.
In Snitch we have Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson attempting to be a modern day Road Warrior to save his son. While I like the Rock as an actor, the roles he’s been picking are not stellar. I don’t see this as any improvement.
In Dark Skies, we once again have a PG-13 horror movie (those two concepts rarely work together), but this time it’s directed by the man who put me to sleep with Priest. I see no good in any of this combination.
Perhaps March will lighten my mood. Next week, we’ve got Bryan Singer slaying Giants and another film that reminds me of last year’s Project X… On second thought, bring on April.
