Black Friday!

Well Christmas is here weather I like it or not. I love the name of the first shopping day after Thanksgiving, Black Friday. It sounds sinister but the all it means is that retailers see this as the first day to operate in the Black. Some bean counter must have thought this one up. What happened this morning? The Alarm clock goes off at 4:30 am so my wife can join the stampede of shoppers who are looking for bargains and hard to find items.

I don’t understand why people put themselves through this each year?  Of course my wife can’t understand why I get up early on weekends to play golf.  It is the always never-ending quest to understand the opposite sex.  But we will save this for another BLOG post.  So what is going to be thing on Black Friday?  I have been trying to find a Wii Fit with no luck.  Yes, it’s for me because I want to get back to my high school weight of 165lbs.  Not likely but can’t a man dream.  So here is are top electronic items I hear people talking about.  How does these fit into your list?
1)    HDTV
2)    Touch Screen cell phones (iPhone, Blackberry Storm, Samsung Instinct, G1 Google Phone)
3)    Gaming Systems – if you know where I can get a Wii Fit please let me know.
4)    Blu-ray Disc players
5)    Digital Cameras – They are as cheap as I have seen them.  I purchased a 10MB camera recently and thought I had gotten a great deal.  That was until I looked on the electronic stores website yesterday and saw my camera was $40 dollars cheaper.  Of course if you wait for the best deals you will either be waiting for ever or your buying old technology.
6)    Laptops – does anyone buy a desktop anymore?
7)     Navigation devices – Garmin, Tom-Tom’s – Are there that many people who get lost everyday?  I am still confused about the need for one of these devices.
8)    MP3 players – Have we started to see an end of these devices now that most cells phones are also mp3 players?

So it didn’t take a lot of brainpower to come up with this list.  But this is the order of importance I see people purchasing Christmas items.  Have a wonderful BLACK Friday and keep one thing in mind as your shopping, do not get caught up in the mob mentality and buy something because everyone else is buying it.  Otherwise you will end up taking the item back.
